Property tax programs at the City of Surrey
Ran a property tax deferment program worth $40M+ in municipal revenue, and oversaw the 2020 tax sale.
Problem
The City of Surrey collects property tax for more than 700,000 residents. Two programs carry a large share of that revenue and of residents' trust: tax deferment and the tax sale.
Role
As a Finance Clerk in Property & Payment Services, I owned both programs.
Solution
I ran the 2019 property tax deferment program, which accounted for more than $40M in municipal revenue. I oversaw the 2020 tax sale project from start to finish.
